Appliance Gurus Successfully Launched Remote Diagnosis Platform

Remote Diagnosis Platform for appliance repair was created by Appliance Gurus. They tested it in Oregon with 200 customers after a storm and their technicians diagnosed problems by remote video.

Portland was hit with a storm and roads were hard to travel. Appliance Gurus was able to pivot with customers to the company’s Remote Diagnosis Platform (RDP) and was able to diagnosis broken appliances and order parts needed. Harsh weather conditions make it hard to get technicians out to homes. Appliance Gurus educated customers that called so they could get an accurate diagnosis of their appliance issue and save 50% too.

Appliance Gurus’ service was delivered over their Remote Diagnosis Platform by pre-scheduled video calls, where a technician remotely inspects the broken appliance by their mobile device. Since the launch last summer customers are satisfied. They like the convenience, speed and cost savings. By having this service, Appliance Gurus was able to prevent a bottle neck of delays once the winter weather cleared.

The Co-founder of Appliance Gurus, Scott Sandie was quoted, “Innovation is usually not the first thing one thinks of when it comes to a staid industry such as appliance repair services, and this is why opportunities to make improvements in this business are not obvious. This is where KJ Page and I started looking at several new business models and decided that we could ‘marry’ some new technology with old fashioned customer service. Six months later, we were on our way to building the Remote Diagnosis Platform.
