After Every Appliance Repair Don’t Forget to…

How you end an appliance repair job is as important as doing great work. Here are some tips to turn a one off job into a regular customer. Once the repair is complete here are recommended services.

Make sure the appliance is level.

Whenever you shift moving parts, you need to make sure everything is level before you leave. Did you reinstall a dishwasher after replacing the heating element? A leaning dishwasher puts pressure on the counters.  Even having an internal part hang at an angle can disrupt the whole machine’s performance. It can even be dangerous if the part starts to rub against each other or the heating element dips too close to an adjacent surface.

Appliances are designed to be leveled with adjustable legs. Try to have a level handy with you to check as you go.

Help with preventative cleaning.

Clogged vents and parts are often the cause of everyday appliance problems. Nobody likes cleaning their appliances so when your fixing what’s broken, help with a little cleaning if it’s possible. The extra love showing them the dirt that wasn’t visible and attention to detail will go a long way.

It is also an opportunity to offer a maintenance subscription plan to keep each property running smoothly.

Mention future service or a reminder.

It can be stressful letting strangers in a home making first-time customers hard to get.  So don’t let them go once you once you get them. Without being pushy mention future services like a six month or yearly tune-up.

Every job is important and can lead to future work. Make sure you leave on great terms to stay top of mind for future opportunities.
